This has got to be the worst company in the world! Washington Mutual lost 4 of our payments and then tried to foreclose. Prior to this, they had us sending our payments all of the country. One month the statement had us mail it to Texas, next month California, then back to Texas. When we were served with papers, we contacted WAMU immediately as well as their attorney. Their attorney has been our greatest asset!!! We faxed front and back copies of our cancelled checks to WAMU & their attorney. They claimed they didn't get them so their attorney re-faxed them. They again claimed they didn't get them.
Finally someone claimed they had them. Then the person quit. Our file layed on somebody's desk for 3 months while we kept calling and leaving messages on a voice mail system where the person was gone but the voice may still worked! To make a long story short, somebody new would get the file, we'd have to resend everything (front & back check copies, copies of bank statements, letters from our bank verifying that the checks had cleared on specific dates for specific amounts, etc.) It has been 18 months now and we still do not have closure on this. While we have been banking the payments til someone gets their act together, I can't believe that a business like this is still in existance. We have gone through about 6 different people in the last 18 months who were supposedly "straightening out our account", they have reported us as in foreclosure on our credit reports, which their attorney says we are NOT and the latest is the last person we were working with's job has been eliminated as they have outsourced this part of the company! Where does that leave us? Even their attorney is having difficulty finding a contact person.
