Washington Mutual - Homeside Lending
Mortgage bullies

Our mortgage account was originally with Homeside lending. Sometime in 2004 or WaMu bought out our loan.in March we starting getting phone calls that we were delinquent in our payments by 6 months. Knowing this was completely false, we argued the point and started attempting to contact supervisors. I was told to send the last 6 months of cancelled checks to one of their locations. I did. I was told it would take 45 days to research. The following week I received a foreclosure notice. When I called, the girl refused to allow me to speak to a manager, told me to "pay my bills" and leave them alone. I was then left with 30 days to find a solution. All this time, I am still making my payments and WaMu is still cashing them. On top of that, I receive a $950 check in escrow excess. So, I attempted to get a loan to buy out my old loan, which was difficult given that WaMu reported me as deficient. Finally, all approved get down to closing (2 days before foreclosure) and WaMu puts a lien on my house so it cannot go to another company. I had no choice but to file Chapter 13 bankruptcy in order to save my house. My attorney said we could fight it but at least the foreclosure would stop. Now, almost a year later, hundreds of dollars in copies of cancelled checks for 5 years, county tax statements, and insurance statements, WaMu says is was not delinquent in my payments but in my escrow and owe them $14,000 now instead of the orginial $6400. My insurance and taxes over the last 10 years (yes, that's how long I have owned my house) have only gone up a grand total of $450. So, apparently my attorney is done fighting, I am out of money and my credit is ruined and don't know what to do. I have no one left to fight for me and my 3 children. I chose this attorney because he said we could dismiss the bankruptcy now he says I should go through with the bankruptcy. Why? He's tired of going through all the paper work. I drive to his office once a month, take off work, find a sitter, and it looks like my file had not been opened from my last visit. He treats me like I am beneath him. I thought the legal system was to protect us from crooks, not to get into bed with them. I feel bullied and hurt. I am at a loss.
