The trouble began shortly after we financed our home. Though we had not financed at Ocwen, they quickly snapped up our loan. Right away, we began to have trouble.
Our payments went down a rabbit hole. At first, we thought it must be an anomaly of the post office. But then, Tim lost his job and the Rave Act pretty much dried up my work. (I am a visual music artist). Things got worse.
Stilll, though other things were going without we were striving very hard to pay our house payment, but right away those payments were going up due to fines, fees, late payments. We just could not seem to get caught up with this company!
We have been in this home for nearly 18 years. We do not want to give up our equity and besides, it is our HOME! We raised our sons in this house. If only we had not financed it outside of the family at all!
We have filed chapter 13 and it is a struggle to maintain that! Right away, our payments "disappeared". Ocwen's response?"We can't be held responsible for the post office, you know!" But this was not the first time. Before we had considered the fault ours, but not any more! Of course, once those payments have not been credited, the amount of the next payment goes up because there are other charges to be paid.
We are hanging on by our finger nails and have even begun a contest hoping to raise enough money to get Ocwen off our backs but the race is on. They are determined to take our little home. And you know, I can't even understand anyone when I try to talk to them anyway. They don't speak English very well. I am offended speaking to a person half-way around the world about my home in the Ozarks!
I am gratified to see so many people willing to come forward about Ocwen. It is NOT just me! I sure wish I had had a choice about who would have my loan. It would not be Ocwen!
