I have been a faithful client of these incompetant fools for a little over 2 years.initially I had some issues with them and they were resolved adequetely at best.in October I began to experience troubles again when my debtors began contacting me to tell me that I was 60 days late in payments. I attempted to contact Family Credit but was never able to do so, and often waited on hold in excess of 90 minutes before being hung up on or disconnected.
I received mail from Family Credit stating that due to hurricane Katrina they were devestated and lost all of thier computer systems. Despite "losing" everything they retained enough information to allow them to continuously debit my account to the tune of $500 per month and also had my address to send me correspondence. What they were "unable" to do was disburse payments, allowing them to collect my hard earned money and do who knows what with it. They have still failed to disburse the entire amount that they withdrew and I cannot get a response from them to determine why.
Avoid this company at all costs. They will put you further in debt. I have accrued late payment charges, increased APR's and negative reports on my credit record as a result of using them. I have had to personally renegotiate my APR's and dispute late charges with my creditors because they REFUSED to take responsibility for their screw up.
I have additionally filed a formal complaint and initiated an investigation through the Florida State Attorney Generals Office. (As a police officer I highly recommend do this). I am also interested in joining in any class action motions against this company should one arise.
