I received a letter from Union workers Credit Services today stating I was pre-approved for a $10,000 credit limit with a 5% APR. There were a few things that made it very suspicious to me & made me want to research it further via the internet.
For examples: 1) Bank Affiliation: None 2)*Applicable Laws: South Carolina&with no footnotes from the * stating what the laws were 3) no contact phone number (s) or names of people to contact 4) approval # & service # was seperated with commas instead of dashes 5) Letter starts off... It's nice to inform you... (which is not professional at all) that you hae been identified and PRE-APPROVED for a PLATINUM CARD Membership from Union Workers Credit Services with a GUARANTEED $10,000.00 credit limit valid exclusively toward all credit purchases from credit provider! (what can you purchase from a credit service?) Full details of your membership and its exclusive benefits will be included with your new Platinum Card. Your satisfaction is assured by a 60 day refund of money guarantee! (this whole section makes no sense... Refund of money guarantee??? 6) note: the $37 is fully refundable with your first purchase using your $10,000.00 credit limit. (this note: is at bottom of fourth paragraph yet there isn't a footnote for the applicable law: South Carolina 7) It never states it's a credit card
I'm glad I researched it further & never sent any money. More people should research offers like this before sending their hard earned money off to unknown places with no contact names or phone #'s.
