Consistently and intentionally notifying payment due date after payment due Ripoff Salt Lake City utah

I moved in May and let Capital One know of my new mailing address. After several months of them continuing to send my bills to my OLD address I signed up for email notification of payments. My bill was due on the 7th of each month and yet they would not send the email until the 9th, therefore racking up a 29.00 late fee which occasionally would put me at an "over the limit" charge as well. I tried calling the 20 or so phone numbers they have on their web site to no avail as you cannot get a live person using those numbers.

I finally called the fraud number and was able to get connected to the billing department and speak to a live person... Per usual, someone in India with no concept of customer service or knowledge of the law in the U.S.in aggravation, I asked for a supervisor, another heavily accented and almost hilariously rude person who told me "since I knew my bill was due on the 7th, it did not matter that they notified me each month 2 days late". When I informed her that it was customary in the States to bill people in a timely manner, and what was the point of signing up for email notifications if I wasn't getting the notice on time AND pointed out that they were heavily listed on RIP OFF REPORTS, she agreed to remove 2 of the 29.00 late charges. I then borrowed the money to completely pay off the bill and will never use their services or any of their subsidiaries again. They are truly a horrendous rip off and I don't know how or why they continue to get away with it.

DO NOT use them for any of their services, auto insurance, mortgages, whatever... They will take everything you own and more!
