I have received several recorded messages from a Scott Evans, which is obviously a ficticious name. I had spoken with an individual on a previous call and told them that I was not the person they were looking for and to please do not call again. This only escalated the phone calls. I purchased a home in April and had to change my phone number, the person who had the number previously is the person who is being pursued by several different collection agencies. All other agencies were very nice and agreed not to call back when I told them they had the wrong number. National Action not only kept calling but the call volume increased.
I spoke with a Mr. Fleming who was beyond rude, hung up on me and when I called back and asked for a supervisor, he stated he was the supervisor and would not transfer me to someone else. I informed Mr. Fleming that we had asked not to be called, he stated that the account notes do not reflect this. After a heated exchange, I called the phone company and changed my phone number.
I am debt free and do not have any collectors calling for me, and by God, I am not going to be harrassed for someone else's debts. How can I prove that I am not the person they are searching for without giving my personal information to complete strangers? I can't and therefore I will not.
National Action cost me money and total inconvenience in their pursuit of collecting money from someone else and this is beyond acceptable. I just hope that I do not have the same problem with my new phone number.
