National Action Financial Services
Ripoff, fraudulent billing, outright lies and extremely rude

I recieved a collection notice from this company regarding the purchase of a Vovlo. Since I have never purchased a volvo I called them to be told that I owed them $4K and my name and SS# was attached to the bill. I explained nicely that this was a mistake and the woman (Mrs Garnett) was a bit on the rude side. I then called the company that it referenced the loan from to find out that a volvo was purchased under a business name that I had absolutly no connection to. I verified with the company that my name was not on the note. I was also told that the company has no affiliation with National Action financial.

I called action back to explain this and was again met with aggresive rudeness. I was actually told that they don't care that I say I was not involved, that my name and SS# was used to get the loan and they expected me to pay it. They also stated that the company I called was the originater of the loan but that they where owned by Primus who was owned by Ford, who they worked for.

When I asked for them to verify my SS# to make sure she had the right person she actually started yelling at me over the phone and hung up! I called the Volvo place again and verified that they were owned by Primus, who was owned by Ford (This guy was very helpfull) he also gave me the proper loan number and the company name and address of the people that bought the car in questions. He also stated that they already had that information and doesn't understand why they would be bothering me. Well I called Garnett back (800-694-1113 x2828) and gave here the name, adress and loan number for the person she was supposed to be looking for.

Well so much for being nice and helpful. She went off on me yelling again. I had my wife listen in and she was about in tears from the threats and screaming from the woman. When I told her that I expect no more calls or letters she told me that they would continue the calls and letters when and how they liked and that there was nothing I could do about it! She hung up on me again after the tirade.

So I called Primus, who again verified that I was not attached to the loan. So I called Garnett back again to relay the information. She said she didnt care and told me I better not call her again. So I called again and asked for a supervisor. At first she said she was the supervisor and when I asked for her supervisor I was transfered to another lady. She was a little less rude but still said that they didn't care what I said that my name and SS# was linked to the loan and that they would continue to call and write until it was paid. So I called Ford.

They admitted that National action was contracted for collections and (again) verified that I was not on the loan. I let the lady know that I was very unhappy with the situation and that the rudeness of thier contractees reflected on them. She said that she would send an E-mail for them to cease and desist after explaining that action used the tax ID number of the company that was in arrears and transposed it to a SS#. Once transposed to an SS# they looked up the person and harrassed them for the payment! I thanked her and let her know that I appreciate her help and that National Action was a very poor ambassador for Ford.

The results of National Action Financial Inc, has cost them 3 possible sales this month. Both step sons and I have wavered over Ford superduties or GMC 2500HDs (diesel for boat pulling) and this has made the decision for us. At an average of $46K each x 3 is a net loss to Ford of $138K

If you work for Ford I would suggest you pass this on to marketing.
