Merchants' Credit Guide
Rude and untrained rip-off

I received a letter from this company on 10/05/05 regarding a debt that I had already paid. I contacted the company on 10/18/05 and a man answered the phone asked me for the file number. I went on to explain that I had already paid the debt and I have the letter that shows that I have a zero balance with this account. He gave me the fax number and I told him that I would fax it. I was asking some questions to see what prompted the letter to go back out and he just became very rude and beligerent. I told him that he doesn't need to talk to me like that and if I am calling them that I am obviously trying to resolve what ever issues they had, and if he didn't want to talk to me that he should let me speak with someone else. This guy then hung up on me.

Today, I called and I spoke with a Ms. Lana, who was semi-friendly, however, when I asked her if there was a note in my account and if the person listed his name, she said no, that it just had a note that I called to dispute the debt. I then asked her what their customer service policy was and she said THAT THEY DON'T DO CUSTOMER SERVICE. WHAT??? I don't know trains these people but they obviously have no clue about how to actually get money back that is owed to them. You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, or have they never heard of this. I went on to tell her that I work in an industry where we also help collect debts and we never speak to our customers like that... She then started asking about the proof letter. I informed her thta I already faxed it and that they should get it in a few minutes.

THis company is rude and if they don't have any customer service then they need to quit calling people and sending letters.
