Collection Agency Harassment While Finance Company Paid Card Debt

A finance company has been helping me pay off all my credit cards, and the account from this particular card was sent to a collection agency.

I contacted the card company to arrange payment, but it had already placed my account with a collection agency in Missouri, so Citi Card refused to work with me directly.

The finance company then agreed to pay off my Citi Cards account. For three weeks, however, the Missouri collection agency harassed me over it. They asked me to give them a postdated check for the amount owed although my bank account lacked the funds. I did not know when I would have the money, and I refused to commit fraud the way the collector wanted. They also phoned my neighbors and threatened to sue me.

Citi Card must approve of such conduct, since it works with this agency. Be careful with Citi Card.
