I recieved a phone call from Distnct Advantage/Freedom Gold that I had a credit limit of 5,000.00 dollars. They told me with just accepting a free trial period for 14 days that I would be given $100.00 in gas vouchers and also $400.00 in Airline Rebates to use anywhere I wished to travel. If I wished to continue after the 14 day trial period, then a sum of $40.00 we be taken as a one time activation fee and a nominal $19.95 monthy account management fee for as long as the account was active.
They stated that they had my bank account number and asked my to verify it. I rejected their offer for I didn't have the funds to back it up, Plus I do not travel anywhere. Again I do not have the funds or time to travel.
Two weeks later I recieved a packet opened by my husband who was unaware of the telemarketing call I had rejected. Then on october 14 I checked the bank account to see if my landlord had recieved and cashed his rent check, I was suprised to discover that Freedom Gold/Distinct Advantage had taken $149.00 from my account on october 11.
I called them up immediately to cancel the account, I spoke to a man which I will NOT refer to as a gentleman!!! I immediately asked to speak with a supervisor which at that point he stated that he cannot transfer calls from his phone. I started to get upset and I demanded the return of my money, to which he replied by hanging up on me. To stop this company from taking anymore money I have to close my bank account and open a new one. But that don't mean I will get my $149.00 back from them.
