Dear Sirs:
I have, had many problems with Compass Bank. First, In August I was taking my son to college. I had a hotel reservation and wanted to use my Visa Check Card to pay for it. I also wanted a cushion so on Friday morning August 12 I deposited $220.00 in cash into my account. Saturday we left for his college. I used my card to pay for dinner, hotel etc. Tuesday I had over 6 $36 charges for NSF. I looked Wednesday, and THATS when they credited my cash deposit.By then the account was deep in the red with NSF and $6 charges on top of each other.
Is that common? It is nothing for my husband and myself to have over $3,000 in our account at one time, however it was the end of an expensive week and we had maybe $300 in account. Also, after looking into this mess I discovered that we had been charged for over 2 years for check orders (terms in the account say checks are free) after several days and proving through statements and going back and forth to the branch they creditied the money back - but by then they had, had over $100 to their credit for over 2 years!
Also, my husband works for a very large Gov. Agency. We have his check direct deposited. The agency is in the same town in which we live and bank. His check is recieved by bank on Thurs. And not credited in our account until late Tuesday.
Also, our account shows the credit via computer, phone, and ATM statement on Sunday. It show it as available for withdrawal. However, if you spend any of it they hit you with NSF charges! In reality it is in your account, but not really, your supposed to assume that they are defrauding you I guess.
Please respond, this is a crummy way to conduct business and get paid for doing it via NSF charges, etc.
