I opened up this line of credit when I was 18 years old. The incentive was that I could have an unsecured credit line of up to $9,000 and it would look good on my credit report. I was young and had no established credit. These people contacted me and told me that even if I didn't buy anything from their catalog, that they would still report to the credit bureau and show as an account in good standing.
That was what got me. They never told me about a $99.00 annual fee, and they also never told me about protection plans totaling $198.98 annually. On top of all this, they were pulling this money from my bank account and I never received paper statements, or gave any kind of authorization for them to do that.
I was talking to one of their customer service reps today about why I was being charged all this money, and he basically told me that I was told about the charges, and that when I called in a year ago that they were described to me in full. The only reason why I got a paper statement this time around was because I closed that bank account a couple months ago, and they couldn't deduct from it.
I have found out that there has been over $800 dollars take from me over the last two years, and I HAVENT EVEN USED THE CARD ONE TIME!
I need help and advice, I don't want my credit to get screwed over this whole thing. Please anyone contact me with info.
