Merchant's Credit Guide used an automated phone caller to call me everyday for eight weeks. That caller asked that I contact Ken Huges regarding a important message. Finally I called them to ask to have my number removed from their calling list and I got Robert Flores. Mr. Flores was abusive over the phone questioning my intelligence and complaining that it was I who was harassing him by being upset that his company was calling me so much. At that point I hung up on him telling him to never call me again. He then proceeded to call my phone 7 times in a row over a ten minute period finally leaving a message that he had a file on me.
I know this firm is a debt collection company but I also know I have no outstanding debts with them because I just had LaSalle Bank run both my and my wife's credit as part of a home loan process. They told us, after checking all of the major credit bureaus, that we had no outstanding debts.
After reporting them to both the Illinois Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission I then called them back to let them know that they would be receiving a letter from the Illinois BBB telling them to stop calling me. They hung up on me before I could finish and when I called them back again they were rude telling me that I was a 'scam' for reporting them.
Unbelievable.
