I received a letter from Merchant's Credit Guide saying I owed over $1,000 to a company listed as original creditor Assoc/Amoco. They said if I disupted this debt to respond within 30 days and they'd send me information 'verifying' this debt.
Well, I have NEVER EVER had an Amoco credit card so I sent them a letter within the week disputing this debt and asking for verification of the debt. Needless to say, they didn't respond with information, only another letter demanding payment in one of three ways. I was furious. I went on line looking for this company and found virtually nothing on this company except what is on usacomplaints.com. Thank you so much for this site. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I immediately contacted the FTC, my Attorney General, and I'm sending a letter to the Credit Bureau and the BBB reporting this company. I also sent the company a letter telling them I knew they were frauds and that I had reported them to the above agencies and even sent them the link to this website so they can see for themselves that they are busted!
Liars... Cheats... Thieves! If you recieve anything from Merchant's Credit Guide, DO NOT PAY THEM!!! I repeat... DO NOT PAY THEM! They are a fruad.instead, report them to everybody!!! Do not let them fleece you!
