I got my dental work done in 2004 and my dental office gave me this finance option, which was GE Capital Cons Cardco AKA CareCredit. I thought it was great because they told me that it was interest free... Etc. After I got my first statement, it said something about interest and promotional rate. I called the customer service line and they had repeatedly told me that there is no such a thing is a finance charge. I called them several times asking them the same question and they would give me the same answer... Finally, I paid off over $1500 in a year and my balance went back to where it originally started from. $3000. After a couple of payments, it went over $3000, it was now up to $3200!!! Apparently, I had 12 months to pay off my first purchase. The second treatment at the dental office, I had 6 months or so to pay it all off. The thrid one, I believe I only had 3 months.
When I called to argue with them, I asked them how would I know if my payment is going towards certain promotional purchase, they couldn't answer me. They said I would have to call and make a specific transaction to certain promotional purchase. That is B.S.! After I refinanced through my dental office, they charged me another over $400. Which came out to be over $3200 again. Their reason was a "late fee". I have never missed a payment on any of my bills, I didn't pay couple of times because every timeI pay more then minimum payment, they wouldn't post my bill online nor send me a statement for a month. I even reported them to Better Business Bureau and this credit card people wrote back to me and BBB, making it sound like "I" was the stupid one for not seeing my promotional purchse on the very bottom. The thing is that I did see it and that is the reason why I kept asking the customer representative about the finance charge. Also, they say that you won't get charged for finance charge, just for your info, they are charging you daily.
I have paid everything off completely but I would never use this credit service for anything. My whole treatment came out to be somewhere around $2500... I basically wasted a little over $2000 on this place for what? I have no clue. I have stressed out so much, many sleepless nights because of this company... Please don't do this to yourself either.
They are ripoffs! Don't trust them!!!
