I have been a victim of this company since September
They started out saying that they aquired our loan in defalt when in fact that was a lie.in three years I have sent 18 dispute packages containing all the proof that we never missed a payment.in January of this year they said we were 9 payments behind. Even though I have made every payment, we were also a part of the class action suit that the FTC and HUD brought against them that settled in May.
Of course we all know that was waste of time. They also just this year settled another Class Action in West VA for 12 mill. What I finally did was write a letter this March to a big wig at PMI which did get the ball rolling somewhat. I tried to retain council, only for several attornies to tell me that I hade a sufficient case but I had to have a 5000.00 retainer! So this year I filed a civil lawsuit against them myself pro se. Luckly I saved every threatning letter they ever sent me, I have
researched everything I can get my hands on RE: Select
Portfolio and PMI, I have studied consumer laws and codes
it has been very time consuming and scary to do this myself but you have to be proactive and not let them get away with this So far the judge has not dismissed the case at thier request.
These people are profiting from our suffering, I cant wait for another class action, somthing must be done now, I might only be one little fish in the pond, but they have forced me to have a sharks bite, they are ruining countless lives. Dont be a victim any more, you can use the system you just have to have the relentless drive that they have. At least I know i have done everything I could, dont wait for the goverment to help, because i dont think they will
