Complain to the ftc so they can investigate! Ripoff

First, I would like to say thank you to all who have posted previously on this company. Associates Housing sold Vanderbilt my mortgage recently and I looked Vanderbilt up here first thing, so I thought I was prepared for what they would pull.

When I got the original letter of sale of the mortgage, I noticed in small print that I needed to send them the insurance information which I did. Then when I got the payment coupon book, I noticed that May and June payments were right, but July's payment was increased. I immediately contacted them and they told me that the increase was an escrow account because they had to pay my property tax. I imediately sent them a copy of the official receipt showing that my property tax had already been paid.

Then I called back in a week and they told me that it wasn't for the tax, it was insurance. I told them that I had already supplied them the insurance information so they couldn't charge that. They gave me the phone number for the insurance dept and had my insurance company call them with the info.

In the meantime, I paid May and June payment on time. When July payment came due, I sent in the check with the corrected amount on it and in the memo wrote "Pain in full for July payment". They cashed the check, but are still refusing to apply the payment to the account.
According to them (they called me at work the other day) I "still owe $10.57 and they will not credit the payment I sent until they get it". I informed them that I did not owe that amount as I had previously sent them proof that I had insurance on the house.

Under the circumstances, I filed a complaint with the FTC, but they can't do anything as far as in investigation unless they get more complaints from you all showing that they are doing all this stuff you all say they are. Then they can investigate.
I also filed a complaint with our local "Consumer Protection Agency". Please contact both of these govermental agencys and make your complaint official so that we can take care of these ripoff companies.
