Ocwen Federal Bank is one of the biggest ripoffs there is. We purchased our home six years ago. After two years my husband was let go from his job. We got behind on the payments, approx. Two months, when I called the bank they said they would work things out with me to keep our home. Low and behold they put us on a forebarance plan. We went through this for two years. When I got behind again they wanted to put our home up for Sheriff Sale - through many attempts I struggled through that. To make this short, they went behind our backs and sold the house without us even knowing what was happening. Recently we were evicted from our home with 2 1/2 hours to move and the state police showed up to see that we left. My 11 year old son was home when they arrived and scared him half to death.
My family went to stay with my sister for a week, trying to find a place to go. I talked to Ocwen during this brief stay with my family and they said they would sell the house back to us for twice the amount we paid for it as well as having the money as a certified check.
Beware of this bank they don't give two #$@#@ about people and their homes. They say they will work with you and let you keep your homes, then WHAM your out on the street.
