Complaint / Review
The Benefits Group
Ripoff, misrepresented sales and services, fraudulent Company

I was contacted by The Benefits Group representative regarding a chance to obtain an Visa Credit Card on 2/23/05, credit limit of $2500.00 to help to reestablish my credit. The Benefits Group Rep. (Jennifer Jackson) indicated they were affliated with Visa Credit card Company working with them to contact consumers as myself who had been denied credit cards in the past and to offer this service to the consumer to help restore their credit.

The Representative indicated that The Benefits Group works with Visa credit card company every 2 years wtih consumers who have been denied a credit card and give the consumers the benefits of owning a credit card with an 8% interest rate, the banks that were part of this program was, Wells Fargo, Wachovia, Bank of America and Washington Mutual.

When the transaction took place on 4/1/05. I was to receive my pkg on 4/15/05 by fedex. My pkg. Was delivered by mail on 4/26/05. The pkg was not deliverd fedex as promised nor did I received my Visa Credit card, I received an plastic container with various material, which I never opened. I sent the pkg back the same way I received it on 4/27/05 called The Benefit Group to inform them of the return.

I was asked to call back from 4/27/05 thru 6/1/05. To give the Company time to enter the pkg in the system, to request my refund, to call an verify the status of the refund, to let me know my application for refund was in the mail and that my request for an refund was denied.

I have recieved an refund letter from The Benefits Group, which states: Provided this is not exactly what was explained to you while placing your order, you may cancel within a ten business day period. The entire payment made by you less the non-refundable shipping & handling charges of $29.99 will be returned after receipt of The Benefit Group of your returned pkg.

On 6/1/05 Rep Kevin indicated that the complete pkg. Was received on 4/30/05. Every conversation, date, time was entered into the customer service computer data for The Benefits Group.

I want my refund of 299.97 because this company is dishonest, unprofessional and do not stand by their refund policy. The Customer service and Representative, sales person, gives false and misrepresentative sales and programs to benefit the status of thier company and not to help the consumers. This is an fraudulent act against consumers across the board and The Benefits Group should not be in business.

This Company is a ripoff to consumers who want to have the benefit of owning a credit card.
