As many may have seen lately, VISA has an ad running on TV with a bunch of Superhero's claiming that if you VISA check card is stolen, fraudulantly charged, etc. You will get back ALL your money. Their website also states "customers have ZERO liability for fraudulant charges" Not so according to VALLEY NATIONAL BANK IN NJ who issued the card to me. My card # was somehow stolen, used at an ATM in the Phillippines, and I immediately reported it to my bank. They reimbursed all but $50, they said my disclosure statement says I am responsible for the first $50. That's funny, VISA says I'm not at all responsible. I think if VALLEY NATIONAL BANK is going to issue these cards and use the VISA name, they should have to abide by VISA's guarantee. And VISA should make sure of it before advertising otherwise!
