Ripoff, never notified me but was on my credit report for $75k, debt was discharged with a deed on lieu of forclosure

I applied for refinancing and found that Cavalry Porfolio collection agency was listed and my debt was $75,000. I have never received any notification from them and I do not owe this money.

In 2000 my husband died and I had to turn my home over to the bank via a Deed In Lieu of Forclosure. The conditions specified in the final papers stated that the debt was satisfied with the Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure and that I was not responsible for any amount of money that was not reclaimed at the sale of the property. If the sale did not cover the loan, I was not liable for the difference and no negative information could be filed against me that would affect my credit.

Now I have to contact my attorney, incur that cost, and have them contact Cavalry Portfolio to force them to correct my credit report.

Class action suit—you bet! I will have to pay a higher interest rate on my refinance loan because my credit score is lower than it should be due to them.

How can they report it to the credit bureau when they have never contacted me?
