Last year I read that a lawsuit has been filed against B of A for charging NSF charges against Social Security benefits monthly checks. To date there has been no update on the status of this case or if B of A has appealed the verdict.
I have been charged $33 for NSF even though the checks have been posted at the same time of my benefits direct deposit. This month they ripped me off for $199.00.
The NSF fees are outragious, and to charge a Social Security deposit is also outragious. I am employed as well as collecting my SS benefits, but I cannot afford these kinds of charges as my monthly income besides SS benefits is bare bones.
I can imagine how difficult it must be for someone who only has their SS check to live on. Can't something be done about this indecent practice?
