CUSTOMER BEWARE Discover won't reverse banktransfer they already started before I activated card. I called to cancel and they WILL NOT REVERSE TRANSFERS. Ripoff Bay Shore

I got an offer for the DISCOVER CARD in the mail. The offer was for 0% interest for the life of my balance transfer if I made 2 purchases a month. Sounded great I filled out the app with the 3 credit cards I wanted to transfer. Well they didn't approve me for the whole amount I needed. I got the card in the mail and noticed it was for the full amount needed. Fine, so I called to activate the card. (I was going to just keep the card and never use it.) So I activate the card and then ask the girl if I can stop the balance transfers (the OFFER SAYS IT TAKES 4 WEEKS for the transfers to go through) the girl says the transfers are already processed.

They were processed BEFORE I ACTIVATED the card? So they were hoping I would activate the card and then start spending it. Since the info with the card says nothing about the credit being used already.

I tell her to close the account and reverse the transfers (THEY HAVE 4 WEEKS OF PROCESSING). She tranfers me to closing dept. The guy tries to get me to keep the card claiming OH WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO EXTEND MORE CREDIT. So I'm like it doesn't help having a half transfer please reverse the transfer and close the account..

He is like well we can't do that. We can close the account but the transfer WILL GO THROUGH unless you call CITIBANK (my other Credit Card company). I'm like wait you sent me this card a few days ago you can't reverse this transfer?

Well since you signed the app you agreed to the transfer.

I'm like ok but I have 4 WEEKS for the transfer to go through just reverse it and close the account.

If you can't do that give me a SUPERVISOR WHO KNOWS WHAT THE F he is doing and can help me. (I got quite uppity with this guy)

He said the supervisor will do the same thing. He closed the account and now I know they are going screw me with interest charges.

I'm going to call CITIBANK tomorrow and see if I can stop this BS.

You can't change your mind with these people?

This is a disgrace I really hope I can reverse this. From now on NO TRANSFERS I will pay my high rate to CITIBANK (who I have been with for 14 years). I fell like such a freaking DOPE.
