The same events have happened to me. Peoples Rebate drafted $299.95 out of my account on March 1. I called and asked for a refund, and the rep told me a a refund reuqest has to be approved by a manger, and to call back on the 16th.
This is such a scam. I have decent credit and should have known a $2,500 limit at 7% was too good to be true. They trick you when they confirm your "order". They tape the conversation, but mention the "benefits packet" but never the credit card in the actual authorization.
I have called the NY attorney general to file complaint. Keep calling their 3rd Party call center till they get sick of hearing from you. Let's all get our money back.
