I received a $19.95 charge on my checking account from Tracguard, a fraudulent company that has dishonest telemarketing practices. I was told I was approved for an unsecured Visa with a credit limit of $3,000, and all I had to do was verify the last 4 digits of my checking account number (they already had the rest) for verifying my income from my direct deposit. They said they would only need to get $300 from my checking account to verify I could make the monthly payments.
I felt suspicious later on and called to cancel the whole thing and it was almost impossible to get through with the number I was given. I finally got through, and a nice woman confirmed that yes, it was a scam, and there is not a Visa credit card offered. She apologized for the fraudulent practices of the company she worked for and said she would make sure it got cancelled... (it wasn't). So far I have been charged $19.95, and I am afraid I will have to close my checking account since they will not credit me after I wrote in, and they will probably bill me for something else. I would love to be part of a class action suit against this company if we could just get more people to tell their story.
