Ambiance Beauty & Barber Academy wrote out a refund check of $500. To a student in March. It went though and was cashed by the student. The exact same check went through again in March and it of course was dated March. It looked as if the student made a color copy of the check and put it through again and even though the date was March Suntrust Bank cashed it again and we were charged again for the old check. Suntrust credited us for the 500 and then three months later charged us back again for the 500. Even though their policy is not to accept any checks after 180 days from the date on the check they cashed it 365 days after the date and didnot realize that it was not an original. I feel that we should not have to pay for their mistake. The student may have made several copies of the check or anyone can make color copies of their checks and cash them a year later at the Suntrust Banks. There is no feeling of security with this bank. I don't feel that they have their clients best interest at heart. Too scary they could let people take all of our money with copies of checks date 365 days ago.
