We fell behind in our Beneficial loan payments, we contacted
Beneficial and they said we could make a "settlement payment".
Two days later they told us sorry, it's in collections. The next day they sent us a letter from a law office. They then
said we had to pay the full amount or face wage garnishment.
We asked them to allow us to put them (with our other bills)
into the Consumer Credit Management. They refused and sent us
a letter from Household Finance Corporation saying to sign off a Consent Judgement to pay them monthly payments and a letter for the court agreeing to a Consent Judgement. This letter has no case number, so if we sign it they file the consent judgement and if we don't sign it they are threatening further legal action. On top of this they have added extra charges. What should
we do?
