Westway Ford
Ripoff

I purchased a 2003 F-350 from Westway Ford in May 04. My husband and I went to Westway Ford because we knew the salesman (Cowboy) and I had purchased a vehicle from them years back. So my husband and I felt we could trust them. If we would have known that we were going to have run into the troubles we did we would have gone to a stranger.

We went in the day we were to purchase the truck and everything seemed fine everyone was very nice and helpful. So we thought it would be ok. Until the papers were signed (which we still have not received). We agreed to make a monthly payment of no more than $800. Cowboy agreed. We were under the impression that our payment was $755. Well the finance company notified us one month later that our payment was late. We still had not received any paper work although we asked for them over and over. The finance company said our payment was to be $821.48 not what we signed for. It turns out Westway Ford added the extended warrenty and GAP ins (we think) which we did not agree on. So after many phone calls Westway Ford said they would make up the difference of the payments by cutting us a check they somehow came up with $1600 difference that they said over the finance term is what we would pay (we still have to pay intrest)

Next came the license plate and tags. You are to receive the plates with in at least 30 days of purchase. We did not receive them on time. So I decided to call my dealership for help to get the plates he told me that they were backed up in the license plate department place??? And he would get back with me. They did not. Well four months later after many many phone calls we finally received them. Also, they finally sent me a version of the paper work (which our signatures are noticablly not ours)

We also had problems with the truck. We were out of state and we called Westway Ford to see what we needed to do. They told us to go to the nearest dealer. We were still under warranty. When we got there the Service department said warranty will take care of the problem. He went to the computer to enter the VIN number. He got a funny look and asked who the vehicle was registered under. We said us. He said the truck was still registered to Ford Motor Co. So that means the truck was not even sold to Westway. After many more phone calls to Westway Ford they finally put it in the computer that the truck was ours.

It has been seven months since I purchased the vehicle and I still have not received any paper work from them and the customer service I have received has been the worst I have ever dealt with. I still do not know what I have agreed to in my original contract and yes they did charge me for Theft Guard. Who knows what else I have been charged for. They still will not spend time on the phone with me to get these doubts and worries taken care of.
