I got a call on Thankgiving stating that I had been turned down for a credit card and my name had been forwarded to that company. The man that I spoke to Joseph Anderson, said that I would be able to rebuild my credit with their credit card and all I had to do was make a one time payment of $299.95.
I don't usually give out my account information over the phone but because it was Thanksgiving and I had a house full of people I was in a hurry. Two days later I started to think about the offer and some questions came up. When I tried to call the company I got no answer at first. When I finally did get in touch with someone, they hung up on me!
Well, I went online and researched the company and found them to be fradulent! I then proceeded to put a stop on the payment. The bank told me that if they change the amount, however, and send it back that it would go though. For the person who wanted to know the exact name of the company, what appeared at my bank was Rebate Association.
It was not enough however to just stop the payment. These people had my account number so I had to get that changed as well as several other things. I have two other credit cards and not one of them asked for a payment before I recieved the card. I wish that I had went with my first thought and refused. It would have saved me a lot of trouble.
