Ok I have been dealing with capital one since 2000 I recieved a bill statement stating that I owed 396 dollars and some odd cents and so I cut them a check and payed it off and canceled it.
Now here is the unbelievable part 3 years had past and I recieve a phone it was capital one saying I owed them 110.00 dollars. I tried explaining to them that I paid the full ballance on the last statement I recieved, and canceled the card they said that there were additional charges that were on the card and that is why I still owed 110 dollars I argued with them for roughly 3 and half months then they finally said well pay 89 dollars and we will consider the account paid in full I agreed. Well then Irecieved another phone call roughly a year later stateing that I still owe 110 dollars I explained to them that I paid it off when we both agreed on 89 dollars and told them that I had recieved a letter stateing so from them but at the time was moving around alot andthe letter had been mis placed so they said that they would have a record that on file but when called them to f they could locate it they gave me the run around.
Ok I bought a house and had to have the money in a collection escrow account well they called capital one that is and I explained to them that they need to call my title company and give them the information to send them the payment and the title company would call me to verify that this true and then they would send payment to them they said ok. Never did here from anyone so I called the title company and asked if they heard from capital one and they had not. So a little while past and then recieved another phone call and they said they wanted payment in full I told them I gave them the information needed for them to collect there money and they began to play ignorant. So I hung up then they called back with a phone of 999-999-9999?
And left a message saying "well you want to play game huh this is unbelievable just down right unbelievable and hung up.
What really gets me is that I paid them 396 on the last bill statement which is what owed then called me 3 years later and bugged me for ever and finally paid them 89 in order to settle the account and a year later they call me again and say that I still owe them 110 dollars.
