4-9-12 About a year ago Groupon sold me a coupon valued at $100 to be used at Landscape Supply Co in Piedmont, SC. I bought it specifically to use for pine straw many months later. Pine straw was listed on the fine print as an example of wht could be purchased. Before I picked up the trailer to go get the pine straw this AM, I called Landscape Supply co to be sure it was in stock and to confirm the price/bale. When I told them I would be using my Groupon, I was told that the voucher was in error and it was not good for pine straw. Further, they had told Groupon about the misprint so they could advise their customers. Upon reaching a Groupon Customer Service rep, both he abd his manager acknowledged that Landscape Supply had advised Groupon of the error, but that Groupon had failed to tell their customers about it. Groupon gave no reason why they had ignored their own policy in failing to tell me about it.instead, for my $100 value voucher, they offered a $50 refund and a $25 Groupon credit. Maybe my math is faulty, but I had a $100 item in my wallet a few minutes ago, but was forced to accept only $75 for it. The fact that it costs $50 is irrelevant. Its current value is $100. I'll have to pay $100 to get the pine straw that the voucher was worth, not $75. Groupon was unbudging in their offer of only $75, and could care less that it will take me $100 to buy the same goods. So beware what is written on the voucher. Groupon accepts no responsibility for their failure to make their customers whole when they know that they had sold something that could not be redeemed as stated and did nothing to correct the matter.
