I went to the ULTA Salon in Manchester, CT to get a hair cut and accent high lights. The hair cut came out pretty ok. No complaints. But the accent high lights were horribile. I told the lady I want my highlights in reddish brown color. The color she showed me was blonde. I said I don't want blonde high lights, I want something in the shade of reddish brown so that it will be subtle & will blend well with my natural darkest brown hair color. She said she will mix some red color with the blonde and make it the color I had in my mind. Well, I believed her and let her do the high lights. Once it was done my high lights were blonde yellow. It was not even close to reddish brown. It wasn't even brown. It was YELLOW. I showed my disappointment and she said in the day light it will look better & asked me to give it some time. If I need to change it they need to apply toner for which I should pay another $20. I gave it a week, still the color was horribile and I coudn't even leave my hair down because I didn't want people to see this horribile high lights on my hair. I went back after a week to the salon determined I'm not paying any extra money for the fault they have done. I went and talked to her. She paid some attention, thank God & again I explained to her what color I was looking for exactly. She said she will fix it and I took another appointment. One good thing was she didn't ask me to pay for the fix which I was not going to anyway. I went again, waited for almost an hour and she called me. I had print outs of the color which I wanted & I also had sample colors with me. She paid 0 attention to the print outs or the sample colors I had in hand. She didn't even look at them. She just came with a color mix & looked at my sample and said this is exactly the color she got and put it on my hair. After leaving it on my hair she left the salon and came back after 45 minutes. Washed my hair & put me under a dryer and again left. I sat there for a while & I was irrritated and said I am going home, I will blow dry it myself. The color was much better than the yellow before but still not the one in my mind. It looks like she just wanted me to be out of the salon somehow. I live very clsoe to the store & they opened it recently. I was planning to be a regular customer there as we recently moved to this place and my hair dresser is some 15 miles away. But not going back there anymore after this horribile experience.
