I had a horrible heart breaking experience with Halo in Sebastian FL yesterday 11/04. My mom and I went there to look at the dogs. I had heard from a friend that they had a few cute little chiuhuahua puppies. So I saw one little guy in a picture book that they have at there counter. Well they brought him out and I was in love. He was everything I wanted and he liked me too. Before I left, I asked one gal behind the desk how much would it be to adopt him she said 134.00 I said ok.
Well I took the application and my mom and I went to lunch I filled it out and brought it back a few hrs later. They asked for a $25.00 so called deposit for the dog. I was ok with that, then she asked me about my cat (patches) he's a 14 years old house chubby cat (never goes outside) what vet he goes to and if he was up to date. Before I thought about the question I said yes. I never dreamed that they would acutally call the vet and ask them everything about my cat. Wow! I'm adopting a puppy here not a child geezzzz. Anyway I get a call the next day and the girl was incredibly IMMATURE and so NASTY to me because I hadn't had my cat updated on his shots. She wouldnt even try to work it out with me. I could have maybe taken my kitty some where to get a shot up to date for him. She said I would not get my $ 25.00 back. Which is not the issue at all. She totally hung up on me and would not let me try to work something out. She treated me like I had done something so wrong.
So I haven't had his shots in a while he is a healthy old boy that lounges in the sunroom and just gets up to eat or bathroom he is not abused in any way. I think this place really goes over board and it's a shame becausce some of the animals miss out on great homes. I have tired to find out who runs this place because the owner really needs to know what is going on at that front desk. No wonder no one wants to come to animal shelters to adopt. The whole issue for me is that my heart is broken I totally fell in love with that little pup. I thought I was doing a good thing. I feel so victimized by the place. They could have atleast gave me a chance to fix the situation but that girl who runs the front desk just shut me out like I had done something wrong. Plus they lied about the price. The price when I went back with the application was over 200. So bottom line if you are gonna deal with them I would be very careful! Or just not deal with them at all. I'm a very nice person and have a lot of Love to give a puppy. That Chico would have had a wonderful home. Heart Broken. God will find the right one for me.
