South Putnam Animal Hospital
Malpractice and Negligent treatment of Diabetic Animal

Kirby is definitely an 18-year old neutered lemon and white male kitten who had been identified, by South Putnam Animal Hospital, with diabetes approximately 1 & 1/2 years back. He was delivered to South Putnam Animal Clinic June 13, since he'd been vomiting and never consumed for just two times. Throughout the workplace visit, Kirbyis BG figures and insulin doses were mentioned with Dr. Maria Kaprielian but, weren't mentioned in his graph.:

Dr. Kaprielian proceeded to have a body test as well as and recommended an ultrasound that was planned for that following evening, September 14. After an treatment of 10 mg Cerenia for sickness, I had been directed by Dr. Kaprielian to consider Kirby house and supply him supper. No directions received regarding Kirby’s dose of insulin. Kirby was given supper at 6:00 pm, he consumed roughly 3 oz of food which he vomited 1-hour later. Their last beverage of water was at 10:30 pm. We were directed to fall Kirby down at 10:30 am, the ultrasound specialist could be in at 11:00am. We were informed to anticipate a phone once the check was finished. I talked with Dr. Judith Mason, before Kirbyis ultrasound was done, by Dr. Pawlusiow again researching BG figures and insulin doses this phone & dialogue wasn't mentioned in his graph. Kirby’s ultrasound was done at 11:58 pm we weren't approached to collection him up to 5:30 pm. Kirby seemed tired but he thought they'd given anything to calm him throughout the process. The team offered no info regarding his treatment throughout the day or his present state. After I came property at 7:00 pm Kirby was on the ground firm, spontaneous and havening seizures. We hurried him to Katonah Bedford Crisis clinic where, upon appearance, Kirby was having Great Mal seizures and had ceased breathing. A healthcare facility team hurried him in to the ICU device; he was intubated, provided sugar and handled in rigorous look after 2 times Upon introduction at Katonah Bedford Crisis, Kirby’s BG was examined it had been therefore reduced it didn't enroll on the BG meter. Although at Katonah Bedford, I approached Dr. Mason at 8:10pm although her answering service. Dr. Mason stated no understanding of Kirbyis diabetes despite the fact that he was identified by South Putnam Animal Clinic which analysis is in his clinic report. Following the event, within the am of 9/15, I again approached South Putnam Animal Clinic and talked to Dr. Heiber, operator of the exercise. She accepted Kirby wasn't supplied food or water he didn't have something to consume or consume while he was within their treatment. Because Kirby have been equally food and water limited before the ultrasound as directed, this 18-year, diabetic, troubled pet had no water for twenty four hours, no food for 3 times.instead, it seems he stayed in a crate unmonitored by South Putnam team till we were named to choose him up at 5:30pm. Additionally, we were billed for 1/2 morning hospitalization though it is uncertain what treatment was supplied during this period. After my request Kirby’s documents, several items were created following the event. These entries were created following the unique records. These claims are false as well as in my estimation were designed to remove any reliably by South Putnam Animal Hospital.

Kirby continues to be likely to this vet his lifetime, they were well-aware he was diabetic given that they identified the condition.inability to supply any pet food and water following a process needing food and water limitation is neglect. Declining to supply an aged, ill and diabetic pet is negligence. Personally I think the therapy Kirby obtained at South Putnam as well as in Dr. Masonis treatment was mismanaged, irresponsible, indifferent and vicious.
