The service cuts out every time it rains and the wind blows. The service cuts out and is scrambled in very light rain/wind and it is impossible to watch in moderate to heavy weather. Even on the clearest day, the delays between switching channels is maddening. When signing up for the service I was assured this would not be the issue, but it has been a long year of lousy television service.
In addition to the terrible technical service and reception, Directv relentlessly (every morning, noon and night) sends email advertisements. There have been a couple of occasions when Directy has actually called my cell phone to let me know a certain show was premiering.in the middle of my work day, I got a call about a TV show!
I have tried to reset the receiver for better service and asked to be removed from the advertisements in an effort remedy the issues I am having, but nothing has worked. Directv will happily send a tech out for the dish, but of course, it will be at my time and monetary expense. MY EXPENSE FOR THEIR LOUSY PRODUCT! Also, if I remove myself from the spam marketing list, I would lose the promotional rate I am receiving. I refuse to pay a dime more this service.
Directv is truly an awful service with lousy customer service and relentless marketing. My advice is to avoid Directv at all costs.
