Unauthorized payment review - Direct TV Final Billing

I had to cancel my service with directv due to moving into an apartment that did not allow satalite tv. I understood I would have an early termination fee and they advised me I had 20 business days to pay from the date of termination. I received my final bill and sent payment within 10 days. Upon checking my bank account I find they have charged my card and also cashed my check I sent. I called directv and they said I would have a refund within 5 to 7 business days. That time had lapsed and I had not received my refund. I called again and was then advised that it would take 30 days to refund my money. I asked to speak with a manager. She advised me that it will actually be 6-8 weeks for my refund. So they are holding on to over $500.00 of my money for 2 months. Its amazing to me how they get away with this, first stealing money from me then holding onto it for 2 months without any reprocussions. I would never choose to use there service again or suggest them to anyone. Beware!!!
