I actually wanted to get Direct TV. The monopoly they have on the NFL Sunday Ticket is the only way I can watch any games worth a lick here in Vermont. My neighbor who lives 40 feet away has a dish on his roof.in the condo complex where I live there are currently 12 other people with Direct TV dishes.
The installer came out, looked at my roof, and said he couldn't get a signal while standing on the ground. He put me in for a second opinion because as it turns out he was just being lazy and didn't want to get his ladder out. The second opinion guy never came and when I called they sent out a "supervisor" who stuck his card in my door (while I was home) and left. The card had nothing to do with Direct TV and if I had not seen the van drive off 30 seconds before I called I would never have known he was there.
The second opinion guy said he knocked (he didn't) and couldn't get a signal. It is hard to imagine that he could get a signal from his van. I need someone to install the dish on my roof where 40 feet another dish gets reception. I called to complain and they said they would send someone out. That was a week ago. I have not heard from anyone.
If it is this much trouble to get service turned on I want nothing to do with them for the next two years. I'll watch the games as a bar and use the hundreds of dollars this dirt bag company charges on beers.
