Watching out for the billing! - Direct TV Final Billing

I was a Direct TV customer for over 2 years. For economics reasons I had to cancel my service. If you have to cancel out of your contract early, you have to pay a $20 per month prorated fee to for the remainder of the contract.in my case, that total was $320. I am not happy about paying a cancellation fee but a deal is a deal. The following is the part which I believe is very poor customer service. To recover their inside equipment (various receivers) they send you FedEx prepaid packages to return them in. However, the giant dish on the roof or the side of your house suddenly becomes yours. That's right, they do not want it back and you are responsible for taking it down if you so desire.in my case, I will have to pay more money to have a handy man come out and remove it. So the cost for terminating there service just double in cost. They are willing to pay the minimal cost to recover the inside equipment which they can reuse, but it will cost them money to send out a tech to remove the dish with no way to recover the expense. So if you are thinking about using their service, make sure you remember the entire process not just the good days when you are paying them.
