Midland Mortgage will not release/endorse and send back an insurance check to pay for damages that have already been repaired.
I am a contractor who was helping a friend with some hail damage to their roof. I met with Farm Bureau, who was excellent. They agreed on damages and price and sent a check to the homeowner.
Unfortunately, they sent it made out to HO and Midland Mortgage. We followed the guidelines set by Midland Mortgage and they kept stalling. They wanted us to endorse the check and then send it to them, BUT even their own paperwork said not to if the claim was under 10K and HO was current.
All work has been completed since May. All documents have been with Midland since May. They kept telling us "we are processing the check" and "should take business days." Still nothing. They stalled so long that the check from the insurance company was no longer good, so they sent it back for us to get a new one issued. We did, and then they asked for all the paperwork again, and we even did that. They THEN EVEN sent out an inspector at the beginning of June to make sure the work was complete. We still have not gotten the check back.
Every call is a stall tactic. I have caught them in numerous attempts to get HO to sign and send the check to them. It is just a constant runaround for no reason whatsoever. I have gotten a supervisor on the phone and just said "Uncle, I give," what other hoop can I jump through for you? I have seen others in the same situation. If you have any answers for me.
