$6 Fee Charged for Cashing a $400 Same-Bank Check

I recently cashed a $400 check drawn on the same exact bank. My wife has an account and signed below me, and I was still charged a fee for cashing it. This is only the second job I've had in all of 2010, and no one is bailing me out of debt, but BB&T steals $6.00 from me to cash a check.
