M And T Bank, charges $5.00 fee for cashing a check drawn on their own bank. Wilkes-Barre

I have a tenant who has a limited income. He called me to see if I could lend him a few dollars as his own checking account was over drawn. I gave him a check drawn on my bank. He took the check to the M & T Bank on which my check was drawn. They had the nerve to charge him $5.00 to cash my check which was drawn on their own bank.

I sent a fax to the bank branch requesting an explaniation and a refund of the $5.00. They didn't have the courtesy to reply!
