In March I opened a checking account with BB&T Bank in Louisville, KY. Mindy Jaffe, the former branch manager, opened my account. I had asked for constant credit for overdraft protection. When we were finished with the paperwork and signing so many papers, I remember asking her whether this overdraft protection was the same as it was with my prior bank, and she assured me it was. She also gave me a credit card line of $5000.00.
Several months went by and I messed up on my checking account, to make a long story short. I had not realized that the overdraft protection was coming out of my credit card. When I called the bank, I spoke to Richard Owens; Mindy had been promoted. I explained to Richard what had happened to my credit card (I was maxed out). He had me sign for a constant line of credit, and I was denied. Then he had me try to get an increase on my credit card, and I was denied.
I keep getting overdraft fee letters in the mail even though I have not used my account for about two weeks. I checked my account and I still have the same amount, but I kept receiving these notices. Now I have not been able to pay my bills, because every time payday comes my check goes to BB&T...
