I published my book with Westbow in September. My book is on all the online book sites in the US and overseas and in all bookstores. I am on promotions, speaking and book signings every month since the book was announced and put on Amazon and other sites on September 11. My book is selling well when I am at signings, so I don't understand how it could not be selling.
I have found out that Westbow Press and the other 11 self-publishing companies they have going to their same address have all been cited for unfair royalty practices of not paying royalties to their authors. Self-publishing authors have no way of knowing how many of their books are selling. However, I started tracking friends, family and others who are buying my book and asking bookstores in the area how many of my book they are selling. In the past 12 months Westbow has sent me $170 for the first quarter, $80.00 for the second quarter and $20.00 for the third quarter, which I consider robbery. Someone needs to investigate these self-publishing companies. I want to discontinue publishing, but in the publishing agreement I would have to pay Westbow $750.00 for my manuscript and $750.00 for my book cover. I need help.
