My husband has been using MSN as an email address for his company since 2002. He has been direct debited from his checking account since that time. The most recent charge was $10.57. Due to a decline in business, I (spouse) decided to cancel. Four months ago I called the 800 number that is posted along with the $10.57 to cancel. I assumed this was done.
I was reviewing our bank statement yesterday and noticed that the charge had continued to come out on the 1st of every month. When I called the 800 number again, I was told that they have no record of our cancelling the account. I have never been treated so badly by a "customer service dept." They were rude and sounded very automated. They did not apologize for this error and made me question my sanity.
We are going to cancel the debit card that they have been taking the money from and will report them to the bank. It is not a lot of money, but it is the principle. I do not think this is the type of customer service that Bill Gates would have approved of. If this is in fact MSN, no wonder he is not involved anymore. $42.28 over the past few months, or maybe since 2002???
