Foreclosure on Home Paid Off in Bankruptcy, Deed Withheld

My mother-in-law filed bankruptcy back around 2004. A federal judge completed the bankruptcy and shows that her house was paid in full, with a balance of $0.00 owed. He sent Midland Mortgage letters for the deed to be sent, and they refuse to do it, saying that $30,000.00 is still owed on the house. How can this be possible when in the beginning only $27,000 was owed? Now they are foreclosing on her house.

What is really strange is that they show payments being made all the way to August. The final payment, made back in September, was sent back by Midland Mortgage, which stated that all payments had been made in full. What also is strange is that she passed away in May and now they are trying to get the house. My wife has faxed and mailed all copies of the judge's orders and statements to them, and they are still proceeding with the foreclosure.

The mortgage was originally a VA loan and then sold to Midland Mortgage. They placed their own insurance on the home due to situations with my mother-in-law. We had an ice storm back in 2002 and had severe roof damage where the entire roof should have been replaced. They sent their adjuster out and she was only paid $1,500.00 for all the damage.

Midland is a ripoff mortgage company and will do anything they can to profit, even from the elderly. How patriotic is our country to have this type of people taking advantage of the low, fixed, or the elderly?
