I was injured in the Lakeland, FL Play It Again Sports store on their inversion table, which they had put together wrong and had out on display. Their advertised motto then was "try it before you buy it". This machine slammed me violently upside down with extreme force. My neck popped, I could not eat solid food for 7 months, and then I had to have my neck (cervical spine) fused. I have been fighting the need for 3-4 more levels to be fused ever since. The other alternative to fusion is artificial disc replacement.
The owner, Sandy Fortin, has been fighting me to get any and all surgeries I need to get my neck stabilized. Holding up my head alone is a constant sick, painful challenge, and I have to ice my neck every single day and night because inflammation makes me even sicker. How can someone fight getting needed medical attention for so long? On Jan 29 it will be 8 years since it happened.
