Hard Credit Inquiry Made After Reported Fraud Attempt

This company made a hard inquiry on my credit. They said someone tried to take a credit card out in my name. I called and spoke to a woman who said this would be removed from my credit and I will be receiving a letter in 2-3 weeks. I never received a letter and the inquiry is still on my credit.
