I received a letter in the mail from Citi Bank informing me that I had made a balance inquiry. It was a credit card I had not used in some time since they changed their rewards so I called to question the letter as I had made no such inquiry. I decided to close the account as it was not being used. To my surprise they informed me I had a recent charge on 06/18/08 to CLASSICCLOSEOUTSCOM 18664226397 NY for $29.99 about the same time the balance inquiry had occurred. I have had no luck getting a response from ClassicCloseouts but finding similar recent reports on this site, it appears someone is trying a get rich scam. I guess if they did this to all accounts many would not notice a small charge and it could make someone a lot of money. I hope someone goes to jail. I had an account with them from a one-time order in early but this recent order does on my account. I have since removed my account from their system, I will be calling again, I will be disputing with my credit card and I will be closing that credit card. This is ridiculous but at least it was only one transaction for a small amount; just the kind of thing that might go unnoticed on an active credit card. Hmmm
