I went to the PETCO at the Mall of Georgia on 4/28 at 11:55 AM, needing a battery for the PETSAFE collar my dog wears. I had called the day before and was assured the store stocked it. An employee named Raynisha was the person I asked, and the battery sat inside a locked display case. She said the night manager had taken the only key home and was not due until 4 PM, so I should come back then. Raynisha and an unnamed male employee both said the night manager frequently carries the key home. Their lack of concern amazed me. I was angry because I had driven 25 miles for something the store had on hand but would not sell me. Neither employee apologized or offered any help. PETCO missed out on selling the battery, a bag of dog food weighing 50 Pounds plus a package of K-9 Advantage 2, $70.00 in lost sales because of sheer incompetence.
I then phoned PETCO Customer Service, and someone named Jerry, based in the Philippines, answered. I told him everything and asked that a PETCO manager phone me. Jerry wrote down the details and said he would pass the complaint up to a General Manager. A full day later, nobody has contacted me. On 4/28 I also emailed using the contact link for customer service on the PETCO site, and a confirmation arrived saying it was received. Nothing else has come back.
